Comprehensive School Reform Demonstration Program (CSR)*

Purpose or Outcomes of the Grant:

To provide funding sources to school districts to implement research-based comprehensive school reform models that have already been successfully replicated.

Educable Deaf-Blind Program - State Aid

Purpose or Outcomes of the Grant:

To assist LEAs in providing highly specialized technology and instructional materials for children and youth with deaf-blindness and/or multiple disabilities to participate in classroom settings.

Target Audience/Who Can Apply:

Priority candidates from July 1-December 31, after the first-come first served. Applications are carefully reviewed, must come from special education administration and are limited to a maximum of $3,000 per child.

Date of Application Process:

Applications taken from July 1 - June 30

Purpose or Outcomes of the Grant:

KSDE is targeting the competitive portion of Enhancing Education Through Technology funds available to Kansas schools under Title II, Part D of the ESEA Reauthorization, No Child Left Behind, to assist schools with student and teacher empowerment to infuse technology into an engaging and active environment that enables the learner to become a technologist, problem solver, researcher and communicator.

Target Audience/Who Can Apply:

Technology Rich Classroom:  The purpose of this program is to provide evidence that technology integrated into a Technology-Rich learning environment and supported by strong, ongoing professional development can produce positive changes in the classroom environment that result in improved student learning in the areas of reading, math and science. All public accredited schools in Kansas may apply.

Student Leadership:  The purpose of this program is to develop new Student Technology Leadership Programs across the state, which result in increased technology literacy for students by the end of the Eighth Grade. All public accredited schools in Kansas may apply.
